We are pleased to announce that Anna Matusiak-Wekiera, attorney-at-law, has joined the Transaction and Contract Counselling Team at JDP law firm as Head of Data Protection/Compliance Practise. Mec. Matusiak-Wekiera advises on the compliance of business processes with personal data protection regulations, the implementation of the GDPR regulations, post-implementation audits, as well as acts as a Data Protection Officer (DPO). For several years, she has been providing legal services in the field of personal data protection to listed companies and other entities processing personal data, also acting as an information security controller (ISC) in these organizations and currently as a data protection officer (DPO). She is passionate about transferring her legal knowledge and working for the development of awareness and culture of personal data protection in business.

Mec. Matusiak-Wekiera is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, postgraduate studies in Company Law at SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the School of German and European Law at Warsaw University. She completed courses in strategic management and management skills organized by Harvard Business School and the Canadian Institute. She is a member of the Committee for the Protection of Personal Data at the Polish Chamber of Commerce and was an expert member of the Commission established at GIODO for the data protection reform in the European Union in 2016–2018. She is a certified internal auditor for the quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2000 standard and an auditor for the leading information security management system according to ISO 27001). She lectures on legal issues related to personal data protection at the university and is the author of legal publications on personal data protection, among others, in the expert quarterly “ABI EXPERT”.
