Attorney-at-law in the Litigation and Arbitration Team and the Infrastructure Team. He specialises in commercial disputes. His experience includes advising entities from the infrastructure, energy and capital markets. He supports clients in court and arbitration proceedings regarding key infrastructure projects (both public and private). He has represented clients in consortium and corporate disputes. Jan also has experience in handling complex cases with cross-border elements, including international commercial arbitration.


Selected projects

  • representation of general contractors in several proceedings against PKP PLK and GDDKiA regarding payment for additional and substitute works performed, and contract price indexation;
  • day-to-day legal advice to entities carrying out infrastructure projects (including advice as part of secondment to an entity building artificial islands – contract value: over PLN 1 billion);
  • representation of a general contractor regarding the construction of a state-of-the-art laboratory for oncology research;
  • representation of a listed company in a dispute regarding the invalidation of an emergency issue of shares worth over PLN 140 million (related to the take-over of control over an entity having one of the largest land portfolios in Poland);
  • representation of a company from the energy sector in a dispute against the State Treasury regarding damage caused by a breach of EU regulations;
  • analyses in international proceedings, including in a dispute regarding the payment of a commission for exporting raw materials from a central African country to China, and in an arbitration between key European energy entities;
  • compliance analysis and internal investigations within corporate structures (regarding i.a. European and American sanction policies, European anti-trust law, financial violations and abuses).
