Michał Kurzela

Attorney-at-law in the Corporate and Commercial Disputes Team. He specialises in civil and commercial proceedings before common courts and in matters relating to civil liability. Michał has over ten years’ experience in providing litigation services to business entities, particularly in contract and corporate disputes, including cases concerning challenges to resolutions of company governing bodies, the exclusion of shareholders, contractual penalties, and financial settlements under cooperation agreements.

Michał represents clients at all stages of a dispute: from providing legal opinions and assessing risks, through out-of-court communication and securing claims, to proceedings before common courts of all instances and before the Supreme Court. Where strategically justified, he actively supports clients in their efforts to reach an amicable resolution of the dispute – through negotiation or mediation.

For many years, he represented one of Poland’s largest insurance companies, conducting numerous court proceedings on its behalf, including cases relating to the professional civil liability of attorneys-at-law. This experience enables him to effectively assess the validity of claims for damages, verify compliance with the required standard of professional diligence, and develop defence strategies against claims – in cases involving both contractual and tortious liability.
