JDP is pleased to announce that Wojciech Merkwa, head of the Public Procurement Team, and Jakub Majewski, leader of a team in the Litigation and Arbitration Team, have been promoted to partner, effective 1 January 2022.
Wojciech Merkwa, attorney-at-law (radca prawny), specialises in public procurement. Wojciech advises contractors and contracting authorities in highly complex domestic tenders. He has represented clients in numerous proceedings before the National Appeal Chamber and common courts, often winning precent-setting judgments important for the entire public procurement industry. He has been recognised in Chambers & Partners in Public Procurement. Wojciech’s expertise also includes contract law, advice on infrastructure projects, and EU legislation. Author of publications in the field of public procurement and EU funding. Member of the Public Procurement Law Association. Lecturer at the post‑graduate studies in the field of public procurement. Wojciech has been with JDP since 2015.
Jakub Majewski, advocate (adwokat), leads a team of lawyers within the Litigation and Arbitration Team and the Infrastructure Team. He specialises in tackling complex construction projects regarding, among other things, railway and road infrastructure (based on FIDIC contracts), telecommunication, energy, industrial and building facility infrastructure. Jakub successfully represents clients in litigation and arbitration across these areas with respect to contractual penalties, remuneration for additional and substitute works, indirect costs in an extended construction time, and other matters. He also advises participants of complex construction projects on their relationships, negotiating amendments to agreements, settling works, handling disputes regarding contract rescission, acceptances, and liquidation procedure concerning construction damage. Jakub has been ranked as a key lawyer in the Legal 500 in Construction and Dispute Resolution. He joined JDP in 2014.
