JDP establishes Competition and Consumer Protection Practice

Damian Kopera, an expert with more than ten years of experience in advising Polish and foreign clients on all aspects of Polish and EU competition and consumer protection law, has joined JDP. He will head the just-launched Competition and Consumer Protection Practice.

The new Competition and Consumer Protection team will support clients in all types of proceedings before antitrust authorities and courts, including those regarding restrictive agreements, abuse of a dominant position or control of concentrations. They will also devise internal compliance procedures regarding competition law and advise on consumer protection, including reviewing model agreements, planned marketing activities and promotion terms.

“We are pleased that Damian Kopera, who will lead the Competition and Consumer Protection Practice, has joined JDP. Damian has extensive experience in advising entities from sectors that have been our primary focus for years. His expertise will expand the services offered by JDP and will help us provide our clients with full-service advice on all aspects of Polish and EU competition and consumer protection regulations, including at each stage of cross-border transactions. In addition to relying on his own know-how and expertise, he will also be supported by the Commercial team who for years have been advising JDP clients on competition and consumer protection”, says Dr Marcin Chomiuk, Partner, Head of the M&A, Corporate and Commercial Practice. “After establishing the employment, data protection and compliance and IP/IT teams in the recent years, creating a Competition and Consumer Protection team within the Commercial Practice is another step towards JDP’s growth”, adds Mr Chomiuk.

“I am looking forward to working with JDP. I am confident that my strategic approach to advising clients with cross-practice support will help them achieve their business goals in compliance with competition and consumer protection provisions. What is more, my business-oriented and pragmatic approach aligns with the JPD’s long-standing philosophy underlying its success and development”, says Damian Kopera.
